Born in Kansas, raised in Maine, Jim studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and has been an art director, designer and illustrator in NYC for more than 18 years.
Teasing apart complex issues and finding the most creative and elegant way to communicate them is what he loves to do most. Whether it's an identity system, an ad campaign, a complicated print piece, a web site or an app, he always tries to tell the story in the clearest, boldest way possible.
He has enjoyed leading teams, being part of a team, and working as an individual. He has experience with digital platforms as well as pre-21st century media. He's managed vendors, developers, and lead client presentations. He's worked with not-for-profit performing arts organizations both enormous and microscopic, as well as large international commercial agencies.
Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or project proposals you might have. Depending on his availability, he's interested in short- or long-term projects.
